The Nerd & Tie Podcast

Episode 27 – Two out of Three

On this fortnight’s episode of Nerd & Tie we are without a Nick! Nick down, Nick down!

…or at least his internet is.

Pher and Trae go it alone, talking about the American adaptation of Dirk Gently, Sony’s woman led Spider-verse movie, Babylon 5’s potential reboot, Batman v. Superman’s date shift and plot details, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and our biggest mailbag yet!

We asked for letters, and you guys took up the challenge big time.

Trae Dorn

Trae Dorn has been staffing conventions for over twenty-five years. They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”

You know, there actually is a story precedent for an Aunt May superhero film! She once became a Herald of Galactus called the Golden Oldie! http://marvel.wikia.com/May_Reilly_(Earth-8417) Sure, it doesn’t take place on Earth-616, and the story was published during Assistant Editor’s Month (so the story’s acceptability as canon is nonexistent at best), and if I remember right, the whole story ends up being a 22-page ad for Twinkies, or something like that. But going back to the disaster movie while some sort of super hero brawl is going on that we never see, that sounds like something that’d work well as a Damage Control film. http://marvel.wikia.com/Damage_Control_(Earth-616)

And I’m still banking on Nathan Fillion playing Black Bolt in GotG 2. (It’d certainly lend credence to his voice-only cameo in GotG 1). This makes even more sense if that rumor that GotG 2 is gonna be War of Kings. Adding to that, since Marvel Studios doesn’t have the Shi’ar, and DEFINITELY not Vulcan, replacing the Shi’ar with the Spartoi makes sense, and thus Vulcan with J’Son.
