‘Star Trek Beyond’ Now Officially in Production in Vancouver

Star Trek Beyond was originally scheduled to begin production back in April, but ended up delayed just because… well… Paramount fired the director and threw out the script.

Y’know, as you do.

Since the film is scheduled to come out next year though, it was vital that the film start production pretty damned soon. Well, the good news is they have. Earlier this week Zoe Saldana tweeted a photo of herself in hair and makeup.

Star Trek Beyond is being directed by Justin Lin, and has a script written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung. Besides the rebooted franchise’s cast, Idris Elba will also star in the film as the movie’s villain.

And I am very, very excited about it.
