AMC Producing Zombies on a Plane Special

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that AMC is producing a half hour special about zombies on a plane set in the universe of The Walking Dead. One survivor from the special (who I’m betting will be the only survivor) will end up joining the cast of Fear the Walking Dead season two.

While an interesting way to introduce a new character, the way the special will air is a bit strange.

It’s not going to air as one solid chunk, instead (during this fall’s run of The Walking Dead) it will air in pieces during commercial breaks. So… yeah, that won’t be awkward at all.

Details are scarce about the project beyond that, and there’s no word as to whether or not the compiled pieces will be aired together (my bet is yes — likely just before the Fear season two premiere).

Fear the Walking Dead season one is currently airing on Sunday nights, and The Walking Dead returns this fall.
