‘Batman v Superman’ May Be the Most Expensive Movie of All Time

According to Latino Review (who notoriously report on just about everything without fact checking it), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel, may be the most expensive movie ever made. They’re estimating that the budget for Batman v Superman has ballooned to over $410 million. That would edge it past previous record holder Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

The reason for the budget likely has to do with the amount of high profile casting in the film (like Ben Affleck), along with how production had to be extended.

Of course, don’t expect the film to hold the record for too long. Both the upcoming Justice League films are likely to have $500 Million budgets, as will Marvel’s next two Avengers movies. It seems cliche to complain about the growing budgets of blockbuster movies, but it’s kind of inevitable as the current batches of films try to pile in more and more characters.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Final Crisis on Infinite Secret Zero Hours of Justice comes out March 25, 2016.
