‘Twin Peaks’ Season 3 Likely Won’t Get Here Until 2017

So it looks like the long awaited revival of Twin Peaks won’t make its intended 2016 air date. Variety is reporting that the show will likely be bumped to 2017 — although technically a late-2016 release isn’t impossible.

Although the revival has been in the works for over a year, the biggest obstacle is the much reported on issues between David Lynch and Showtime that happened earlier this year. The two may have kissed and made up, but it had an effect on the production schedule.

Most of the original cast is returning for the revived show, and many of us are pretty damned excited about it. I have to admit I only got around to watching the original two seasons of Twin Peaks in the last few years, but services like Hulu and Netflix streaming the show have certainly brought in more than one new fan.

Let’s just hope this new season is better than Fire Walk With Me.
