‘Agent Carter’ Season 2 Gets a Premiere Date

Agent Carter is arguably one of the stronger parts of the small screen section of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its first season was consistently strong, its cast charming, and, frankly, it was just sort of awesome. Needless to say, we’re pretty excited about season two here at Nerd & Tie, and now we know when it’ll arrive.

ABC announced Agent Carter will return to the airwaves January 5th 8/9c with a two hour premiere. The new season will be largely set in California (as opposed to season one’s New York) according to the official synopsis:

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home – and perhaps even a new love – she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

ABC has also put out a promotional image of series star Hayley Atwell for the second season, now sporting red sunglasses instead of her red fedora.

January can’t come fast enough.

Update (11/18, 8:00AM): And there’s now a nice little trailer for the second season as well.
