‘Supergirl’ Gets Full Season Order

We’ve been enjoying CBS’s Supergirl here at Nerd & Tie, but it looks like we’re not the only ones. THR is reporting that CBS has asked for an additional seven episodes – bringing it’s first season order up to a full twenty.

It’s not quite the full twenty-two enjoyed by most network dramas, but Supergirl is a more expensive (and time consuming) show to produce with its high number of special effects. Also, frankly, twenty isn’t an uncommon episode count for comparable cable shows, so it’s not terribly surprising.

Of course, now that the show has gotten a full season, the first thing people have been wondering about is if it will now cross over with The CW’s Arrow and The Flash (as while they are on different networks, they share a creative team). When asked though, executive producer Greg Berlanti denied that anything was currently in the works, saying that as they had just received the additional order it was too early to tell. Personally, I’m hoping any crossover would be reserved for season two, as it’d be nice to see Supergirl stand on its own for a while.

…but that’s just me.
