The ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ Trailer Hits All the Right Notes

I watch a lot of trailers prepping things for Nerd & Tie, and I know the formula… but even so, with the iconic speech (riffing on JFK) from the original set over the latter half of the new Independence Day: Resurgence trailer, even I got suckered in.

Also… why is everything “resurging” these days?

Anyway, yeah. The long awaited sequel to 1996’s Independence Day is slowly creeping towards release, so getting this trailer around now was kind of inevitable. Revel in all the familiar faces stuck in there. Note the complete lack of Will Smith. Enjoy some Jeff Goldblum-ing.

It’s a thing.
