‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Smashes Box Office Records

To the surprise of pretty much no one, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened to record numbers. Episode VII earned $238 million domestically, with another $279 million internationally. So yeah, sorry Jurassic World, you got to hold on to that record for less than half a year. On Friday alone, the film brought in $120.5 million, setting the record for biggest single day, biggest Friday, and biggest opening day as well.

A lot of you went to see this movie.

Opening weekend alone made the film the 141st highest grossing film of all time worldwide, and the 107th highest grossing domestically. The film is currently on track to beat the $760.5 million earned by Avatar, especially since pretty much nothing else interesting is coming out until February.

I know I plan on seeing it at least a few more times at least, but I made my thoughts on the movie pretty clear.
