‘Jessica Jones’ Renewed For Second Season

Netflix’s Jessica Jones was, hand down, one of the best things you could put on your television last year. It shared the title of “Best new thing on TV” in our 2015 in Review podcast for a reason. Its first season arc was dark, intense, and (frankly) incredible.

It should come as no surprise then that Netflix has decided to renew the series for a second season.

When the second season will premiere is actually a big, open question. All of the Netflix shows are designed to merge together into a single season of The Defenders, and as Netflix can really only make two of these a year, we might be waiting a while. Daredevil season 2 is scheduled for a spring release this year, with Luke Cage following in the fall. After that we also need to get in the first season of Iron Fist.

So, really, the open question is whether or not Jessica Jones‘s second season will appear before or after The Defenders miniseries — which may not even be until 2018 in the first place.

But heck, if it’s anywhere near as good as the first season, it’ll be worth the wait.
