Netflix Making Time Travel Movie ‘ARQ’ and a Series Based on ‘Altered Carbon’

There are a couple of big pieces of new coming out from Netflix this week for fans of science fiction. I mean sure, it’ll be a while before we get to watch either of these thing, but at least we have some stuff to look forward to.

First off, they’re bring us the movie ARQ. Starring The Flash‘s Robbie Amell and Jessica Jones‘s Rachael Taylor, Orphan Black‘s Tony Elliott is writing/directing, and Lost City and XYZ Films are producing. ARQ is a post apocalyptic, time looping thriller, and it sounds pretty neat.

Secondly, Netflix is also developing a ten episode series based off of the Richard Morgan cyberpunk novel Altered Carbon. Laeta Kalogridis will write and executive produce the series, which is set in the 25th century.

All of this is good news, as Netflix continues to prove itself as a pretty decent home for genre shows.

They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
