Daisy Ridley’s ‘The Force Awakens’ Audition is Pretty Impressive

We really liked Star Wars: The Force Awakens (which shouldn’t be too surprising), and one of the high points was Daisy Ridley’s performance as Rey. Ridley was a practically unknown actress going into this film though, and she was cast after an exhausting search.

Buzzfeed has gotten a hold of a clip (which we assume comes from the pending Bluray release) in which director J.J. Abrams talks about the process of casting Rey, and just how perfect for the role Ridley was when they found her. The video also includes some footage from Ridley’s audition for the role.

Sadly I can’t embed it, but you can find the footage here and watch it for yourself. I recommend doing it… because it’s a Tuesday and what else are you going to do? Work? If you were doing that, you probably wouldn’t be reading this to start with.

The Force Awakens comes out on Digital on April 1st, followed by a Bluray release April 5th.
