Release Date For Blade Runner 2 Moved Up to October 2017

I say it every time that the film comes up, but I still can’t decide if Blade Runner 2 is going to be amazing or the worst thing ever created by mankind for the screen. I honestly can’t see it ending up in the middle of those extremes — it’s just not possible.

The film, set to go into production this July, was originally announced for a January 2018 release date. That date has changed though, as Alcon Entertainment has now announced that the film’s release will be moved up to October 6, 2017.

Honestly this move was probably made for a myriad of reasons, but it seems like a vote of confidence in the project. Besides the fact that a film being moved up means that they’re not worried about production, it also means it won’t have to compete with Star Wars Episode VIII which is due in December of 2017 (and will likely still be going strong in January).

So good or bad, we’ll now find out the answer with Blade Runner 2 in October of 2017.

It’s like Schrodinger’s movie that way.
