‘Supergirl’ Officially Moving to The CW, Renewed for Season 2

While CBS’s freshman superhero drama Supergirl initially seemed like it had guaranteed itself a second season, dropping ratings and high costs had many concerned for its future. What many suspected was that rather than cancellation, Supergirl might instead find itself exiting CBS and ending up on The CW instead.

Well, it seems like those suspicious have come true. It’s now being reported that Supergirl has been officially renewed, and will definitely be moving to The CW. Besides the network move, production will also move from Los Angeles to Vancouver, where Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow are currently filmed.

Honestly, I’m excited. Hopefully we won’t lose too much with the reduced budgets, but I think The CW is the best home for the show going forward. Supergirl is literally one of the best things on television right now, and it’s nice to know it’ll continue.

I have a feeling that the crossover episode with Flash might have helped make this move. It will be interesting to see however this show will exist with the other three shows. I bet there will be some writing involved to bring the two universes together,
