Brie Larson Officially Cast as Captain Marvel

One of the most anticipated films in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is their first woman-led film, Captain Marvel. We’ve been waiting to know who would play the titular Carol Danvers, and while rumors were swirling, we’ve yet to receive confirmation as to who would be suiting up for it. As expected though, Marvel made the big reveal at this year’s SDCC: Brie Larson.

Larson is best known to audiences for roles in films like Room, as well as television shows like United States of Tara and Community. She’s a phenomenal performer, and it’ll be interesting to see what she does with the part. Of course, the film is still a few years off, so we still have quite some time to wait to see her.

Captain Marvel is scheduled for a March 8, 2019 release.
