‘Fantastic Beasts’ Sequel Already Has a Release Date

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Harry Potter prequel/spinoff, doesn’t come out until November 18th, but Warner Bros is clearly betting on its success. The studio has been pretty hardcore in planning for a follow up, having already green lit a sequel.

And I mean it’s super green lit.

Besides supposedly already having a finished script for the film, penned by J.K. Rowling herself, the studio has now announced a release date. That’s right, Fantastic Beasts 2 (or whatever they call it) is coming to theaters November 16, 2018.

Premature? Maybe. I mean, Sony announced a whole mess of supposed Amazing Spider-Man follow ups that never materialized when the franchise flopped. But Rowling’s Potterverse seems like a much more sure bet.

I mean, I guess we’ll find out together this fall.
