The First ‘Power Rangers’ Trailer Looks Like ‘Chronicle’ Meets ‘The Breakfast Club’

This weekend we got the first official teaser trailer for Power Rangers. Of course, I’m not quite sure we were meant to, as it was first posted to and then immediately pulled from Facebook — and it wasn’t until it began to spread that the studio kind of gave up and officially reposted the video themselves.

And the trailer is… not that informative. I mean, it’s almost entirely scenes that must come from the first quarter of the film. Some have complained it’s too dark, but while I think the concerns about the color palette are genuine, a lot of it has been overblown. This is a trailer folks, and it was edited by different people than the ones working on the actual movie. There’s humor in the raw footage if you look closely, so we have a strong chance of a non-grimdark film here.

Don’t give up hope yet.

They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
