‘Wet Hot American Summer’ Team Making Series Best Described as ‘The Love Boat in Space’

According to THR, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, Jonathan Stern, and David Wain, best known as the team behind cult favorite Wet Hot American Summer, are working on a new series for TBS called Moon Cruise. The show, which will star Michael Ian Black, is best described as “The Love Boat, but in space.”

The show will be a half hour, single camera comedy… and that’s literally everything we know about the series right now. I mean, it’s a great team behind it, but details are being kept tightly under wraps for now. I mean, with a title like Moon Cruise, I think it’s safe to say the fictional space cruise ship will fly by some moons? Maybe?

I mean, that’s not a lot to go on.

In any case, no matter what they do, I’ll always be internally comparing it to the classic SNL Star Trek: The Next Generation/Love Boat sketch from the ’90s when Patrick Stewart hosted. I mean, why wouldn’t I?
