Alex Meraz Will Play the Lead in WGN’s ‘Scalped’

WGN’s adaptation of the DC/Vertigo comic Scalped finally started moving forward after a year of silence last week when it was announced that Lily Gladstone would be joining the cast. Well, news about the project continues to trickle in, and we now know who will be playing the lead role of Dashiell Bad Horse.

According to Deadline actor Alex Meraz will be taking on the part. Meraz is probably best known to audiences for his small part in Suicide Squad last summer, and is of mixed Lakota and Purepecha descent.

Considering for how long this project was silent, it’s nice to see that producers are finally actually doing something for once. It’s also, frankly, nice to see that the promise to have an all-native cast is being kept.
