Red Eagle Entertainment and Sony Make Deal to Develop ‘Wheel of Time’ Television Series

Robert Jordan’s fantasy epic The Wheel of Time is one step closer to showing up on our television screens. Variety is reporting that Red Eagle Entertainment and Sony have reached a deal to develop a series based on the fourteen book saga. Radar Pictures will also produce.

Rafe Judkins has been hired to write and showrun the series, and Jordan’s widow Harriet McDougal will serve as a consulting producer.

Red Eagle Entertainment has been trying to get this deal done with Sony for two years now, and went so far as to shoot a bizarre adaptation of the prologue of The Eye of the World called Winter Dragon to keep the rights. I’m honestly amazed the project is moving along this far.

Let’s see what happens next, shall we?

Trae Dorn has been staffing conventions for over twenty-five years. They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
