Netflix Orders ‘The Dark Crystal’ Prequel to Series

Netflix has officially ordered a prequel to Jim Henson’s classic 1982 film The Dark Crystal to series. And when I say “classic” I think I really mean “movie that gave me nightmares as a kid.” There’s just something about the Gelflings faces…

Anyhow, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance‘s first season will run ten episodes, and is set “many years” before the film. The official plot description is pretty straight forward: “When three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, they set out on an epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world.” Louis Leterrier will direct and executive produce the show.

No word yet on when The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will premiere, but Netflix has put out a very brief teaser for the project.

They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
