The Latest Trailer For ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ Looks Pretty Neat

Somehow we’ve managed to never talk about the live action remake of Fullmetal Alchemist that’s coming out later this year in Japan. It’,s strange, because part of me was so sure we had that I spent ten minutes digging through the site archives convinced I must have mistagged it or something. In the end though, it turns out we haven’t.

But with a new trailer for the film out, we can change that.

If you’re familiar with any of the previous versions of the franchise, everything in the trailer should look pretty much as expected. Visually, the film looks like a fairly faithful adaptation. Al is apparently entirely CGI as well, which at first I didn’t notice… until I super noticed. In the end though, like any live action adaptations of anime and manga, I’m going to temper my expectations. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised, but I’m remaining skeptical.

Fullmetal Alchemist comes out this December in Japan.
