The ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ Movie is Apparently Still Happening

Way back in 2014 it was announced that a film version of Image Comics’ Cowboy Ninja Viking was in development, and that the film would star Chris Pratt. Since then we’ve heard pretty much nothing though, and most of us have been questioning whether or not the film was still happening.

Apparently it is.

The latest news is that not only is the adaptation still happening, but Universal has even given the film a release date. That’s right, Cowboy Ninja Viking is going to apparently hit screens June 28, 2019. Pratt is still attached, and the only real competition in theaters will be Paramount’s seventh Transformers film.

Oh god, they’re going to make so many of those Transformers movies…

Anyway — for those unfamiliar with Cowboy Ninja Viking, it’s about an assassin with multiple personality disorder. Created by writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, the series debuted in October 2009 through Image Comics’ partner studio Shadowline. The comic ran ten issues, ending its run in November of 2010.
