Two Weeks Before Event Walker Stalker’s Nashville Con Has Been ‘Postponed’

The Walker Stalker Con/Heroes and Villains Fan Fest event in Nashville, TN was originally scheduled to take place August 24th and 25th at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention center. That apparently isn’t going to happen now though, as the convention took to Facebook this weekend to announce that the event, just two weeks away, is being postponed to next January.

The new date for the convention is January 4th and 5th. The convention promised in their statement that they would be answering questions in a Facebook Live event that day, but as far as we’ve been able to tell that didn’t happen.

The convention’s parent company, Walker Stalkers LLC, has been having a number of issues this last year. We reported on a number of these back in April, and in July the Better Business Bureau told Nashville’s WSMV that consumers should avoid the event.

I don’t want to speculate on the interactions between of Walker Stalkers LLC and their now former venue, but regardless of what happened there, it’s never a good sign when an event has to either cancel or reschedule just weeks ahead of time. For a convention management company on the rocks, this doesn’t make me optimistic about their future.

This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”

Three weeks since the cancellation and refunds have not been processed (or at least mine anyway) Responses from WS are that they are getting to it. My impression is that they are waiting for funds from another con to cover the failure of this one. No more pre-sales with this company for me.

  • So a week and a half before the reschedule date and I can’t get any answers on if they are honoring my original tickets … Looking at reddit, I see posts that say FanFest was going bankrupt 8 months ago … so I’m guessing we are all out of luck …
