Oh hey, is it a Thursday? Yes. Have be been super inconsistent about keeping this feature going? Maybe. Do I really care right now? Not really.
So in this installment of Throwback Thursday, I’ve dug back through Nick Izumi’s Youtube archives and pulled out a random video from January of 2009. What is it? Well, it’s “Nick Izumi Takes on Gundam F91,” and since I know nothing about Gundam I have no idea what he’s going to say about it. Nick knows a lot about Gundam though, so you should let him talk at you for nine minutes about this particular installment in the franchise.
Hey, it’s Thursday – and that means there’s like a 50/50 shot of me posting a Throwback Thursday video! And since you’re reading this… I did? Totally did. Anyway, in this installment we go back to 2010 when The Nick Izumi Show took on Doctor Who. He did this episode before a single Moffat episodes had ever aired.
And he seemed so excited about it.
Which is hilarious if you’ve ever had a conversation about Doctor Who since then.
Hey, it’s Thursday! And it means it’s time for our semi-regular Throwback Thursday feature! We’re inconsistent! Anywho, in this installment we dig back into the archives of the Nick Izumi Show and come up with his review of Frank Miller’s adaptation of Will Eisner’s “The Spirit.”
Don’t let Frank Miller kill you all kinds of dead.
‘Tis the season for Holiday films with terrible messages, and since Nick nicely took on the Rankin Bass classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer back in 2010, I thought I’d share it in this attempt to revive “Throwback Thursday” on Nerd & Tie.
I swear I’ll be better about posting these, really.
So, it’s a Thursday, which means I yet again dig into our collective vaults of weird material and find something to post from Nerd & Tie’s prehistory. This week’s installment pulls yet another video from the archives of “The Nick Izumi Show” where Nick rants for two minutes about “Lucky Star” in 2009.
Look at that — another Thursday where I didn’t forget to post something in this category. It’s amazing. Anywho, last week we saw Nick Izumi’s favorite male Anime characters. This week we move on to… Nick’s favorite female Anime characters. I know, it’s a shocker, right?
Of course, as I said last time, this list is from early 2011 — so who knows if it’s still correct.
Well, I mean, Nick knows. But I don’t feel like asking him right now.
So, as we’re going to try to be good on keeping these Throwback Thursdays going, we thought we would dig into the archives of the Nick Izumi Show… and dig out this little video. What is it? Well it’s Nick’s top five favorite male anime characters!
Or at least his top five as of February 2011, which is when he put this out.
This Throwback Thursday we’re going back into the archives of The Nick Izumi Show. Why? Because I like The Nick Izumi Show, that’s why. It’s not that complicated.
For this particular installment, we dig back to 2009, when Nick dug his teeth into the infamous CLAMP, a group of all women Manga-ka that formed in the 80s. CLAMP has had a major influence over the industry over the last several decades, and whether you love them or hate them, you can’t deny that Manga and Anime wouldn’t be quite the same without them.
