The ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ Movie is Apparently Still Happening

Way back in 2014 it was announced that a film version of Image Comics’ Cowboy Ninja Viking was in development, and that the film would star Chris Pratt. Since then we’ve heard pretty much nothing though, and most of us have been questioning whether or not the film was still happening.

Apparently it is.

The latest news is that not only is the adaptation still happening, but Universal has even given the film a release date. That’s right, Cowboy Ninja Viking is going to apparently hit screens June 28, 2019. Pratt is still attached, and the only real competition in theaters will be Paramount’s seventh Transformers film.

Oh god, they’re going to make so many of those Transformers movies…

Anyway — for those unfamiliar with Cowboy Ninja Viking, it’s about an assassin with multiple personality disorder. Created by writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, the series debuted in October 2009 through Image Comics’ partner studio Shadowline. The comic ran ten issues, ending its run in November of 2010.

Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Passengers’ Trailer is Here

Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence may be two of the biggest names in Hollywood right now, so when Passengers (a science fiction film starring the pair) was announced, we were pretty excited. Now we’ve gotten the first trailer for the film… and we’re more excited? Actually, we’re the same level of excited as before — but it was kind of a high level to start with.

There’s a cap on this sort of thing.

The film is about a pair of people who had boarded a long term space flight to a new world, where they were supposed to spend the journey in stasis. The two are woken up early for unknown reasons though, and are faced with spending the remaining ninety years alone with each other.

Oh, and then some other stuff goes wrong too.

It looks really interesting, and it’s nice to see something that’s both serious science fiction and a strong character piece. Hopefully it lives up to expectations (and survives getting released around the same time as a Star Wars film).

Passengers comes out December 21st.

Fifth ‘Jurassic Park’ Film Confirmed, Given Release Date

There’s no doubt that Jurassic World, the fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise, was a massive success. It’s been breaking box office records left and right. Because of that, no one should be surprised then that Universal has confirmed they are making a sequel.

A sequel that will be out June 22nd 2018.

Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are expected to return, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. Jurassic World co-writer and director Colin Trevorrow will cowrite the script along side his frequen collaborator Derek Connolly, although Trevorrow won’t direct again as he’ll be off shooting a Star Wars movie.

Personally, I think this is great, as I’ve always loved this franchise. Hopefully they’ll flesh out the human characters a bit more in this next installment though.

“Cowboy Ninja Viking” To Star Chris Pratt

Screenrant is reporting that Chris Pratt has been cast in the film adaptation of Image Comics’ Cowboy Ninja Viking. For those unfamiliar with the property, it’s about an assassin with multiple personality disorder.

I’ll let you figure out the rest.

Chris Pratt, of course, was the breakout star of two of this last year’s biggest films (Lego Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy), and is in the cast of the forthcoming Jurassic World. As a brilliant comedic actor, he’s kind of the perfect fit for pretty much any quirky lead.

He’s the Benedict Cumberbatch of action comedy.

…I think I just came up with the best idea for a buddy cop film.

Let Chris Pratt take you on a Cribs-style tour of the Milano

We always say the more Guardians of the Galaxy the better here at Nerd & Tie — so needless to say this particular featurette piqued my interest. In it, Chris Pratt takes us on a tour of the sets for the Milano (you can guess who Peter Quill named it after). Shot like an episode of MTV’s Cribs, it’s pretty damned entertaining.
