In the Trailer For ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’ Season 3, the Final Test Is Coming

Ash vs. Evil Dead has become over the last few years the pinnacle of the franchise it continues. I mean, it’s just so good at capturing the spirit of the second film, and the third season (premiering next month on STARZ) looks to be no different.

The new trailer for the upcoming season hits all the highlights — Ruby is evil again, Pablo’s powers are growing, Kelly gets possessed again… and oh yeah, Ash has a daughter. It has most of us pretty hyped, and if you’re a fan of the series you should be too.

Season 3 of Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres February 25th.

The ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’ Trailer is Pretty Great

Look, if I have to explain to you why so many of us are excited about the upcoming TV continuation of the Evil Dead franchise Ash vs. Evil Dead, then I’m not sure you’re on the right blog. I mean, we literally have “Nerd” in the name.

For the rest of you who came here on purpose, Starz has now put out a full trailer for the show with actual footage — so you may now commence rejoicing.

Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres this fall on Starz.

First Photo of Bruce Campbell’s Ash in ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’

The Evil Dead franchise is pretty beloved in the nerd world, so when we learned that a TV series was in development a year ago, most of us got pretty excited. When Starz picked up the series last fall, geeks around the world rejoiced.

Well, as things keep moving forward, we now have the first official photo of Bruce Campbell in his return to the character Ash in Ash vs. Evil Dead (thanks to EW):

Personally I think it looks pretty rad, but again — it’s just a photo.

Lucy Lawless Joins Cast of ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’

THR is currently reporting that Lucy Lawless has joined the cast of the Starz Evil Dead TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead.

According the the THR article:

Lawless will play Ruby, a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent evil outbreaks. The only problem: she believes that Ash is the cause of it all.

Lawless joins a cast which includes Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and (obviously) Bruce Campbell.

Bruce Campbell Gets Co-Stars For ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’

The TV continuation of the Evil Dead franchise (titled Ash vs. Evil Dead) is creeping closer to hitting the small screen, and we finally know who will be co-starring in the show alongside Bruce Campbell.

THR is reporting that Ray Santiago (Touch, Meet the Fockers) and Dana DeLorenzo (Growing Up Fisher) are joining the Starz’s original series cast as big-box retail co-workers of Campbell’s Ash.

Santiago will play Pablo Simon Bolivar, who worships Ash as a hero and acts as a sidekick. DeLorenzo will play Kelly Maxwell, a (and I’m quoting THR here) “moody wild child trying to outrun her past.”

Ash vs. Evil Dead is expected to air on Starz in late 2015.

Evil Dead TV Series Confirmed, Coming to Starz

Deadline is now reporting that the Evil Dead TV series in development has been officially greenlit by premium cable channel Starz. We last talked about the project this last summer when Sam Raimi announced at San Diego Comic Con that he and his brother Ivan were working on it.

The series will star Bruce Campbell as an aging Ash, who has spent the last several decades avoiding responsibility. Titled Ash vs. Evil Dead, one assumes that it must follow the theatrical ending of Army of Darkness and not the Planet of the Apes ending found on the director’s cut.

(And I doubt the Fede Alvarez reboot/sidequel film will have any relevance)

Evil Dead TV series in development, would star Bruce Campbell

With one of the most unexpected announcements to come out of San Diego Comic Con, Sam Raimi announced that his brother Ivan Raimi and Bruce Campbell were working on putting together an Evil Dead television series. Campbell, of course, starred in the original Evil Dead trilogy of films as the protagonist Ashley “Ash” Williams.

Little to no details have been revealed, and there’s a chance that this will go nowhere. All we really know for certain is that if this does come together, Campbell will star.

The 2013 remake/reboot/sequel of Evil Dead was supposed to link in to the original trilogy, but we’ve heard very little about that. Whether this TV series would connect to the remake is unknown, because as I just wrote a few moments ago we pretty much know nothing.

But hey, I’m just happy this is a possibility.
