The International ‘Ghostbusters’ Trailer Gives us Some Chris Hemsworth

Last week we got the the first trailer for the upcoming reboot/remake of Ghostbusters. We gave our full opinion on this last weekend’s podcast, but in summary our current mood is “excited for this movie” at Nerd & Tie.

The interesting thing though is that international mega-star Chris Hemsworth (who will play the rebooted Ghostbusters’ secretary) was barely in it. Well, we now have the International trailer for the film, and we finally get a glimpse at the male equivalent to Annie Potts.

And… he’s funny? Yeah, he’s funny. I mean, not as funny as the rest of the cast, but not bad.

Ghostbusters hits theaters July 15, 2016.

Episode 68 – I Ain’t Afraid of No Dudebro

On this episode of Nerd & Tie we talk about the new Ghostbusters trailer, Pacific Rim 2 has a new director, the Iron Fist has been cast, Nicholas Meyer has joined the writing staff of the new Star Trek show, Wine Country Comic Con is insane, YourMiniCon has cancelled more events, and Nick went to Plattcon.

He had fun.

The Full ‘Ghostbusters’ Trailer is Here!

We’ve been pretty enthusiastic about the forthcoming Paul Feig directed Ghostbusters reboot/remake that’s coming this summer for quite some time. I mean, it has an incredible cast, the props look amazing, and after Feig’s Spy and Other Space I have a lot of faith in the guy. Well, today we finally got the trailer for the film — and as it’s a trailer, it (of course) looks pretty frickin’ awesome.

But, of course, it’s a trailer. There’s a formula to these things, and it’s hard to say if the final film will be as good as I hope it will be. Personally, I’m crossing my fingers.

New ‘Ghostbusters’ Character Shots Released

I know that every time a new image from the forthcoming Ghostbusters reboot/remake comes out, we jump all over it. I mean, just look at the tags and you’ll see a trail of shots released by director Paul Feig and others (but mostly Feig). At some point you’d think we’d get sick of this. Well new character shots have been released, and we’re still hyped over this film.

Take that, critics of boundless enthusiasm.

Anyway, these new shots include all four of our heroines (Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy) as well as Chris Hemsworth. Click the thumbnails below for larger versions, and marvel in their greatness.

Just Take in This New ‘Ghostbusters’ Image

Look, we’ve seen a ton of set photos from the upcoming reboot of Ghostbusters, but we finally have the first official official image from the film. Fan page Proton Charging posted the following image to Facebook… and it’s amazing:

Look, I know it’s just Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones standing in front of a green light in fog… but it’s also Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones standing in front of a green light in fog.

Paul Feig Tweets the Best ‘Ghostbusters’ Picture Yet

Paul Feig has been continuously leaking imagery from his upcoming Ghostbusters reboot. First it was the uniforms, then the proton packs, then the new Ecto-1

Today he finally tweeted out an image which puts it all together though:

I have never actually been more excited about a reboot in my life.

Ghostbusters comes out next year, and that isn’t soon enough.

Ghostbusters Reboot Has a Cast, Release Date

There have been a lot of rumors out there about the Paul Feig directed, Katie Dippold penned remake of Ghostbusters, but we finally have some nice, concrete information. That’s right, we now know who our Ghostbusters are.

The all-women cast will (as expected) include Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy, but also current SNL members Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. All four of the women are exceptionally funny, so I’m personally very happy with this cast announcement. Besides the cast, we also now know the film will begin shooting this summer with a July 22nd 2016 release date.

I’m optimistic about this film, as I think this is all pretty good news.
