So, Ant Man is totally coming this summer, ready or not. It’s the finale to the Phase II of Marvel films, and… well… it actually is looking better every day. Today Marvel released the full length trailer for the film, and I think it fits the tone of the existing Marvel universe while also highlighting the lighter feel of the film compared to, say, the Daredevil series.
Also, with Ant Man, it’ll be nice to get a way from New York. Too much stuff happens in Marvel’s New York.
The Daredevil series hits Netflix on April 10th, and I couldn’t be more excited. Today, Marvel released their first “full length teaser” for the series, which establishes that the tone for the series will be very different than what we’ve already seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe… and that’s a good thing.
So check out your minute and a half of the man without fear. It’s pretty neat.
Hey, we’re doing Throwback Thursday this week! That’s good, or something. Anyway, in this installment’s blatant recycling of old pre-Nerd & Tie content, we return to 3DO to Go, my 3DO video game review show. This week’s experiment? Escape From Monster Manor.
In the video you’ll notice I randomly pick a developer’s name out of the credits and declare “I’m going to get you, Stefan Henry-Biskup!” Well, eventually he watched the video… and agreed with my review.
So I’m not sure what I was expecting with the new Fantastic Four trailer. I mean, whether the film ends up being good or bad, I knew the trailer would probably impress me. When you have a lot of money, it’s not hard to toss together a beautiful advertisement. I’m not sure though that I expected the trailer to focus on the science aspect in something that almost feels like the early ads for Interstellar.
In any case, if you feel like getting yourself hyped for a film that at least sports a brilliant cast, here it is:
So I could say a lot of stuff about the new Age of Ultron trailer. I could talk about how it focuses on the Hulk and Black Widow. I could talk about how creepy the use of the Pinocchio “Got no strings” song is. I could talk about how James Spader can add just the right amount of creepiness to his voice.
Or I could just share the trailer with you and you could watch it for yourself.
So we’ve known for sure since last week’s “Ant-Size” promo that Marvel was planning on releasing the first teaser trailer for Ant-Man alongside last night’s premiere of Agent Carter. Well, for those of you who missed it (like the people who watch their shows on Hulu the next day… like me), here it is in all its glory.
‘Tis the season for Holiday films with terrible messages, and since Nick nicely took on the Rankin Bass classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer back in 2010, I thought I’d share it in this attempt to revive “Throwback Thursday” on Nerd & Tie.
I swear I’ll be better about posting these, really.
So obviously with the holiday this week, we’ve been lagging a bit behind here at Nerd & Tie. But we didn’t want too much to fall by the wayside when two new trailers were out this week for films we’re excited about: Jurassic World (because y’know, Chris Pratt + Dinosaurs) and Episode VII (because, y’know, STAR WARS).
