Sony has announced they've tapped The LEGO Movie's Phil Lord and Chris Miller to make an animated Spider-Man theatrical feature. The film is being made independently of the studio's joint effort with Marvel, and will not take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. My thoughts on this are mixed
