You might recall that some time back, JD Vance made some remarks misinterpreting St. Augustine’s doctrine of “just war.” As medievalists, we took exception to those remarks…but also, let’s take a little time to look at Augustine, who was an interesting historical figure who just wanted to write a lot and hang out with his bros.
