Jenna-Louise Coleman to leave Doctor Who in Christmas Special

So according to The Mirror, Jenna-Louise Coleman will be leaving Doctor Who in this year’s Christmas special. This isn’t too much of a surprise, though her character Clara is one of the longest running companions of the current incarnation of the series.

The decision was reportedly mutual, as her leaving felt like the natural evolution of the show. In the Moffat run version of the show, companions have been sticking around longer than in Russell T. Davies tenure. Hell, the Ponds stuck around for two and a half series.

Coleman will appear in the entirety of Series 8, which begins airing in a week, so fans will still have plenty of time with Clara before she moves on.

I’m just excited to see who the Doctor travels with next.
