Syfy Admits It Probably Should Have Kept Making Science Fiction

Syfy (right around the same time they changed their name) walked away from serious science fiction years ago, and it’s sort of bit them on the ass. Genre television has blown up everywhere else on TV, with shows like The Walking Dead on AMC and Game of Thrones on HBO. Well, the good news is, when talking to EW, Syfy pretty much admits to their mistake.

And they plan on doing something about it.

The whole article is worth a read, but the end result is that Syfy channel is in the process to rededicating itself to scripted genre programs again. And really, I think that’s all we were asking for.

Trae Dorn has been staffing conventions for over twenty-five years. They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
