Star Wars Episode VII is now “The Force Awakens”

We’ve discussed the upcoming J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars installment multiple times on this site, but have only been able to refer to it as “Episode VII.” Well, as principle photography wrapped, the official Star Wars twitter account tweeted out that the Episode finally has a title: Star Wars: The Force Awakens

So we’ll probably stick with calling it “Episode VII” then.

The internet of course lit up, mocking the title of the film – but it makes me wonder, have these guys actually been paying attention to the ridiculous titles already in the series? I mean “Attack of the Clones” and “The Phantom Menace” are pretty silly too, but we all got over it. This is nowhere near as bad as current “Awful Film Title” challenge holder Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Infinite Crisis Flashpoint Final Zero Hour of Justice, so let’s have some perspective, okay?

It does make me want to ask if the Force was sleeping though…
