Throwback Thursday: BOB and GIANT ROBOT

Hey, remember when this blog used to have a Throwback Thursday ongoing feature, where I’d dig up some old videos made by one of us at Nerd & Tie? You don’t? Because I haven’t posted an installment since July?

Well, we’re here and we’re doing it this week. Why? Because I feel like it.

Anyway, BOB and GIANT ROBOT started life as a three page comic I drew while really bored once. Then, while even more bored, I turned it into a primitive “animation” and put it up on Youtube in early 2007. The opening music is “Amiga” by Vomit Hat Steve’s old band “To Slay Zombie Newton,” and the rest of the music is just me goofing around in sound recorder in Windows 2000. You might recognize the melody in Episode 3 as a prototype version of the song that eventually became the Nerd & Tie podcast’s theme too.

So enjoy – each is only a minute long.

Trae Dorn

Trae Dorn has been staffing conventions for over twenty-five years. They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
