Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ Series In Development For Hulu

Marvel’s just popping up all over on Televison, from the X-Men derived shows coming to FX and Fox to the Defenders corner of the MCU on Netflix to Agents of SHIELD on ABC to Cloak and Dagger on Freeform… their brand is just all over the place. That’s not even counting their kids’ shows too.

Well, another network/service is getting a crack at a Marvel show now, with the latest report being that a Runaways pilot is being produced for Hulu.

Based off the comic by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, Runaways is about six children of supervillains who literally run away. It was originally intended to get a film way back at the beginning of the MCU’s Phase 2. That film was cancelled so the company could focus on the Avengers core of the franchise.

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will showrun the series, and beyond the pilot additional scripts have been commissioned as well. While it’s too bad we won’t see Runaways on the big screen, it’s nice to know we’ll get some version soon.

This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
