The First Trailer for the New Film Adaptation of ‘IT’ is Friggin’ Terrifying

The first trailer for the new film adaptation of Stephen King’s novel IT is now out, and man is it friggin’ terrifying. Based off the first half of the book (as it’s a little too much for just a single film), IT‘s directed by Andrés Muschietti and produced by him and his sister Barbara Muschietti.

Most people are familiar with the miniseries adaptation in which Tim Curry famously played the clown Pennywise, but this looks like a worthy successor. There are some slight changes, like moving the time period from the 50s to the 80s, but that will allow a second film to cover the “current day” portion of the story (assuming the film performs well).

IT comes out September 8, 2017.

Trae Dorn

Trae Dorn has been staffing conventions for over twenty-five years. They also wrote and drew the now completed webcomic UnCONventional, and produce the podcasts BS-Free Witchcraft, On This Day With Trae, Stormwood & Associates, The Meatgrinder, and The Nerd & Tie Podcast. This leads many to ask how the heck they have the time to get it all done. Trae says they have the time because they “do it all quite poorly.”
