Sony’s Spider-Man Adjacent ‘Silver and Black’ Has a Release Date

Sony’s ongoing attempt to build a Spider-Man-adjacent shared universe, which isn’t connected to the MCU but somehow connected to the MCU’s Spider-Man, continues forward. One of the films in the pipe for this bizarre experiment is Silver and Black, a movie focused on Silver Sable and Black Cat.

What we knew already is that film has a script by Chris Yost and is being directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. What we’ve learned in the last few days is that Sony has stamped a nice big release date on the film: February 8, 2019.

While this may seem more out of left field than the Venom movie, these are at least two characters whose origins aren’t heavily dependent on Spider-Man existing. That Venom movie is coming out just four months beforehand though, so it just feels like Sony’s trying to cram as much as they can at us at once.

I guess we’ll see if any of it sticks to the wall.
