The New ‘Bright’ Trailer Continues to Weirdly Get Us Excited Over a David Ayer Movie

Look, we didn’t like Suicide Squad. Most people who enjoy “good movies” didn’t like it either. With that in mind, it’s kind of bizarre to get excited about Netflix’s Bright, which shares that film’s director and one of its stars. Okay, it probably helps that this movie was written by Max Landis, who is the showrunner of the brilliant television adaptation of Dirk Gently, but still.

We’ve had a handful of trailers for Bright, and the latest continues to look pretty solid. If you don’t recall, it’s a modern set fantasy movie where Will Smith plays a human cop partnered with an Orc (played by Joel Edgerton). It’s pretty different from most things we’ve seen, which is exciting on its own. This is the streaming service’s first attempt at a “blockbuster” movie, so it’ll be fun to see how it turns out

Bright hits Netflix on December 22nd.
